CHARLOTTE, NC (September 13, 2010) -- Each year, Compass in the Community (CITC) recognizes accounts and departments who best demonstrate positive contributions to their local communities. As such, the judging committee* is delighted to announce their 2010 choices for best overall outreach initiatives. Each sectors’ top-selected submissions should be commended as competition was intense with all displaying strong service programs and partnerships.
The 2010 Gold Award salutes the outreach efforts of the Field Accounting department, at the Corporate offices in Charlotte, NC. Led by their Be-A-star team, Field Accounting effectively partnered with 11 non-profits assisting with fundraising and volunteering their time and expertise. Their monthly charitable activities addressed local, regional and even national needs, such as raising donations for Haitian earthquake relief. Community outreach is obviously a part of everyday business for all Field Accounting associates. The department will receive its Gold Award at the 2010 Be-A-star banquet and have $8,000 dollars donated to non-profit(s) on their behalf!
The Silver Award recognizes Chartwells Higher Education at the University at Albany in Albany, NY. Joyce Favicchio and her unit annually support a range of outreach activities both on and off campus with tremendous results. Among their long partnerships are the Food Bank of Northeast Regional Food Bank, Parsons Child and Family Center and the American Cancer Society. They will receive $6,000 for their charity of choice.
These accounts were awarded Bronze, and each will receive $2,000 for their chosen community organization,
